Richard At least four military junta soldiers were killed when the revolutionary forces intercepted a convoy of soldiers coming from Dawei to Laung Lone township in Tanintharyi Region, Comrade Shadow, the information officer of the Laung Lone Township People’s Defense Force, told BBM.
On September 17, at around 3:30 am, the revolutionary forces blocked a convoy of more than 100 soldiers entering Laung Lone township from Dawei. They encountered a convoy coming down the main road near Ya Haung village and clashed with the military junta for about 30 minutes, resulting in four soldiers being killed and three others injured.
“The fighting happened when Ma Ah La (Min Aung Hlaing) came to Dawei, and we thought that they came for security. They came from Dawei and then from Laung Lone. When our comrades came down from Dawei, they clashed and it was a fight,”
Comrade Shadow told BBM. When the fighting took place, the second column of the military junta came out to provide support along the forest road, and the revolutionary forces attacked with three sets of claymore mines, causing many casualties on the military junta side, and the number has not been confirmed yet.
“They came out from Dawei. Now there are many people. There are about 100 of them. That happened on the road with us. The main thing is that the second column separated from the place where the shells came out and followed them along the forest road. When they came out from the forest road, we attacked with mines that we had prepared. There may have been many casualties. We don’t know exactly yet,”
Comrade Shadow told BBM. The attack was carried out jointly by the Laung Lone Township People’s Defense Force, Dawna Division-3 KBDF, Dawna Division-7 LPF, Dawei District People’s Defense Force DDPDF, and the Federal Duwun Force.
