In Theinni town, northern Shan State, the MNDAA sentenced some criminals to death on the morning of September 26, locals told BBM.
“It is known that MNDAA condemned 3 to execution .They are from Lashio and Hsibaw,”
a local said. The seven suspects who were arrested were tried in public and 3 out of the 7 were sentenced to death, he said.
“Only 2 of the 3 were sentenced to death today. The other 1 will be sentenced to death after 2 years,”
another local said. The 3 people sentenced to death are from Thibaw and Lashio, while the rest are reportedly serving long prison sentences, he said.
The criminals were accused of robbery, theft, kidnapping, rape.It is alleged that they have committed murders.
After the MNDAA took control, some of those who committed serious crimes in the MNDAA-controlled areas were sentenced to death in Lashio last April and in Laukkai in December and April 2024.
