A 200-strong military council column has entered villages near Wanbao and is stealing everything from rice, oil, salt to jewelry.

🟥Between 15,000 and 20,000 people have been displaced, and people are dying from snake bites and exhaustion.

For the past 10 years, members of the military council, the Pyu Saw Htee and the Shan National Army (SNA) from the Chinese Wanbao copper project in Salinggyi Township, Sagaing Region have been entering villages near the project every day, causing between 15,000 and 20,000 local people from 28 villages to be displaced, and there are deaths while fleeing, and they are being buried where they are, a revolutionary comrade told BBM.

Since October 20, the military has been invading Aung Chan Si village and Palaung village to the northeast of the Wan Paung copper project, stealing everything from rice, oil, salt to jewelry.

“For the past 10 days, they have been stealing things from people’s homes under the pretext of clearing the area for military operations, kidnapping people and killing them. They have been taking everything from cloths and shirts to phones, gold and silver. They have also been taking women’s earrings,” the soldier told BBM.

As a result of the military operation, between 15,000 and 20,000 people have been displaced by the war, and they are suffering from basic needs such as shelter, food and medical care, as well as suffering from snake bites and exhaustion. The bodies are being buried wherever they are found.
