Richard The military junta is expanding runways at airfields in Nyaung U, Pakokku and Wazi in central Myanmar, and may be carrying out more bombings, a local source told BBM.
The airfields being expanded are close to Bagan, Nyaung U, Kyauk Padaung, Seik Phyu, Chauk and Salin, which means the military junta is working to bomb the Anyar region (Upper Myanmar) more than before.
“The airfield is located near Seik Phyu and Chauk on the Ayeyarwady River, which was previously undeveloped. Now it looks like the runway is being paved. It is planned bomb with jet fighters. Currently, most of the attacks are carried out by paramotors and gyrocopters, and later, jet fighters may also be used for small-scale attacks,” the source said.
They transported to the expanded airfield by using trailer trucks and 12-wheeler trucks from the Myaing Tharyar rock field in Kyauk Padaung Township at night.
“They sent rocks from Myaing Tharyar at night in trailer trucks and 12-wheeler trucks. The people who are leading the delivery are the ones who are 2D/3D gambling agents, the ones who are military junta’s supporters,” the source added.
The military junta has been bombing the Anyar region with paramotors and gyrocopters from the Meiktila air base, but the source said that it is possible that the airfield is being expanded and more bombing is being planned due to frequent crashes.
