In the battle for the capture of Mualpi village on Kalay-Taingen road in northern Chin State, around 20 members of the military soldiers were killed and many military equipment was seized within a day, according to military sources on the ground.

The military junta invaded Chin State with a large military force on May 18, 2025. However, due to the blockade by the revolutionary forces, they were unable to march and were stationed in Mualpi village, 17 miles from Kalay on Kalay-Taingen Road.

It is reported that the revolutionary forces began attacking the military junta’s forces in the village of Mualpi at around 6 am on July 5, 2025. During the day-long battle, around 20 military soldiers were killed and the military junta retreated from the village.

“We started the battle at 6 am on the 5th and we could finish it off before 5 pm. In one day, the military junta’s side may be about 20 dead , and we have about 10 bodies,”

a military source on the ground told BBM. To date, the revolutionary forces are continuing to clear the area around the village and have reportedly seized a large amount of ammunition and weapons.

In addition, a military source told BBM that two newly graduated lieutenants were killed and a major-level officer was missing during the battle.

“I heard that officers who had just graduated from school were killed in the battle of Mualpi, and the missing junior officers are still missing,”

the source continued. It is reported that after the fighting broke out, the military junta provided artillery support from 9 miles away in Kalay and sent reinforcements.
