🟥There are also military junta troops along the road to Mogok
After capturing Kyaukme in northern Shan State, the military junta has been continuously conducting airstrikes on Hsipaw.
After capturing Kyaukme on October 1, the military junta began airstrikes on Hsipaw on the Union Highway between Lashio and Kyaukme on the night of October 2.
Then, on October 4, there were three (3) airstrikes on Hsipaw in the same day, at around 7 am, 5 pm, and 8 pm.
In addition, on October 6, there was another airstrike on Hsipaw early this morning, which damaged public buildings and injured two (2) civilians, a local resident told BBM.
“The military junta is bombing here by air strikes, and those people who are avoiding the war have also avoided it. Two people were hit by the airstrike this morning,”
a local resident told BBM. During the airstrikes by the military junta on Hsipaw, a local military source told BBM that the attacks on Naung Cho and Kyaukme were carried out first from the air, and then the military junta started to carry out ground attacks.
“They have started testing Hsipaw with airstrikes. Soon, they will also use heavy weapons and drones. They will test the airstrikes and then attack from the ground. They did the same thing in Naung Cho and Kyaukme,”
a local military source told BBM. In addition, the military junta is also marching military troops on the roads leading to Mogok, which is causing clashes.
After the capture of Kyaukme, a military junta column in Naung Cho advanced towards the Pankhar Chaung area on the border of Naung Cho and Mong Lon townships, resulting in clashes with the TNLA.
In addition, some columns based at the 13th Battalion Advanced Military Training Depot at 7 miles from Thabeikkyin are also advancing towards the Thabeikkyin perimeter and Mogok road, resulting in clashes with the TNLA, he added.
“We have heard reports of the military junta troops moving from Naung Cho area. The main thing is that they are advancing. There is a small stream called Pankhar Chaung at the end of Naung Cho area and the beginning of Mong Lon area. There are already clashes there. At the same time, the Thabeikkyin side is advancing towards Mogok, and the Naung Cho side is advancing. The military junta troops are advancing heavily around the Thabeikkyin and Mogok road, and there are casualties on both sides. The military junta troops are based at the 13th Advanced Military Training Depot near Thabeikkyin,”
he added. Since last August, the military junta has been able to capture Naung Cho and Kyauk Mae from the revolutionary forces in northern Shan, and has also been able to retake Thabeikkyin town using large amounts of manpower and artillery.
