A comrade from the People’s Defense Force (PDF) in Gangaw town, Magway Region, joined the military junta with a gun, a local man close to the revolutionary forces told BBM.
The comrade who defected to the military junta is Comrade Kyaw Min Hlaing (aka) Akyi Kaung (Yangon Thar) from Battalion No. (14) in Gangaw district.
Comrade Kyaw Min Hlaing joined the 50th Battalion of the Gangaw-based military council on the evening of February 1.
“He defected to the military junta with a gun, his child, and his wife. He is from Yangon,” a local man close to the revolutionary forces told BBM.
Those who have contact with Comrade Kyaw Min Hlaing who defected to the military junta are urged to be vigilant and to be wary of the public.
“We will need to pay special caution to air defense these days, and military column may be advancing, and the people will need to be cautious,” a local man told BBM.
Yesterday, February 3, the military junta conducted two airstrikes near San Myo village in northern Gangaw Township.
