Five people, including children, were killed and 10 injured in the military junta’s bombing of Pyin Maseik village in Bilin Township, Mon State, according to local residents.

The military junta dropped a jet fighter and a bomb on Pyin Maseik village (west side) at around 8pm on September 9.

A local resident who knew the incident told BBM that the bomb dropped by the military junta hit a house and shattered it.

“The bomb fell into a house in the middle of the road, and the damage was severe. Some were sleeping, some children died, some were injured, and there was no organization in that area,” a local resident told BBM.

Five people, including three children, were killed and about 10 were injured in the bombing, he said.

In addition, the injured have been taken to nearby hospitals, some of whom are in critical condition.

The village where the military junta bombed is located in the area controlled by the KNU Brigade 1, and on the other side is the area controlled by the No.5
Brigade , a revolutionary comrade said.

“It is in the area of KNU, there is no military activity there, the villagers are peaceful, I don’t know why they bombed now, they (the military junta) don’t avoid the areas where civilians are, they just bomb everything, they are just attacking civilians intentionally,” he said.

Human rights groups have reported that the military junta troops are frequently carrying out heavy artillery and air strikes on villages located in Thaton district, the area controlled by the KNU Brigade 1, and that there are civilian casualties.

Due to these conditions, thousands of civilians in the area of the No.1 Brigade are being forced to flee.
