Four members of the revolutionary forces were killed in the battle, as a result of the military junta’s airstrikes.
“We lost about four people in the Mogok area today. The main reason was attacking by the airstrikes,” the military source said.
It is reported that a truck was also hit by a drone.
“I kept chanting the Buddha’s speech and looked to the east and above (because of the drones) and drove that I have never faced before. I have never been so nervous in my entire life driving from Mogok to Yangon. I also saw a truck hit by a drone. The Hpawttaw intersection is also in a state of panic,” a driver wrote on his social media.
A resident of Mogok told BBM that the revolutionary forces have temporarily closed the Mogok section of the road since October 11 due to the ongoing battle.
“I heard it was closed from the Hpawttaw intersection. It is temporarily closed from today,” he said.
The military junta has launched an offensive to regain control of the Mogok-Mandalay road after regaining control of Thabeikkyin township in July.
In Thabeikkyin township, the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), the Mogok Army, the Mandalay PDF under National Unity Government (NUG) are involved in a counter-offensive against the military junta.
