After the 22nd Brigade of the military junta captured the Asian Highway Road and Thinkan Nyinaung township controlled by the revolutionary forces last September, the 22nd Brigade has launched an offensive against the Lay Kay Kaw area in Myawaddy Township.
The 22nd Brigade attacked the Lay Kay Kaw area with two main lines, and then divided into smaller lines and advanced on several fronts.
The military junta columns have reportedly captured Yae Kan Kone, dispensary, and downtown areas in Lay Kay Kaw township in recent months, and have now also captured the Swe Taw Kone, the dominion the Lay Kay Kaw.
The daily battle between the 22nd Brigade of the military junta and the revolutionary forces that are intensely attacking in Lay Kay Kaw, and in recent days, the military junta has suffered casualties and took back some dead bodies.
“Yesterday, two soldiers were killed on the spot in the drone attack and three were in the hospital. The other day, three dead bodies were caused due to the drone attack,”
an underground revolutionary comrade told BBM. Although the military junta claimed it captured Swe Taw Kone and Lay Kay Kaw, it was not able to control fully. The areas where the fiercest battle is taking place are at the bottom of Swe Taw Kone and around Yathayt Gu, which the military junta claimed that it has seized.
“The fierce battle now and we have found the dead bodies and weapons that are from the battles at Swe Taw Kone and Yathayt Gu,we have also found supplies and weapons,”
the comrade added. In addition, during the battle, the military junta forced the military recruits to fight in the front and die.
In the only Lay Kay Kaw battle, more than a hundred recruits were killed because they were forced to fight in the front, and there were also many recruits who came to defect.
“We have witnessed more than a hundred recruits died in the Lay Kay Kaw battle. Now, their situation is like they are being forced to fight in the front. There are also recruits who came to defect,” another underground comrade told BBM.
During the Lay Kay Kaw battle, not only the revolutionary forces but also the recruits who came to defect have admitted on social media that at least a hundred recruits died in the battle because the military junta forced the recruits to fight in the front.
